The old Schoolyard in Waxi Village
The poverty that I encountered in the Tibetan village was striking. The school was is such bad shape that the pupils couldn't use it they had to use the schoolyard as their classroom. There they sat and had class in the cold and the dust when I met them 2004. Thanks to my photos and the article that my wife wrote the bad situation in the village came to knowledge and money was given by donors or invested by the local authority. A new school was built and the communications to the village was improved.
Today is the living conditions in the village much better and the children has a serious chance to get a good education and a scholarship that will enable them to get a better future for them and their families.
